Wimbledon 2019 champions Novak Djokovic and Simona Halep posed for pictures together a day after SW19 drew to an end following a Djokovic vs Roger Federer classic in the men’s singles final at the Centre Court on Sunday. Simona Halep beat Serena Williams for her maiden title at the All England Tennis Club, while World No 1 Djokovic toppled Federer for his fifth Wimbledon trophy. Both Serena and Federer were chasing record victories at the Grass Court in SW19 but were kept waiting as Serbian Djokovic and Romania’s Halep scripted history. Serena remains one title away from equalling Margaret Court’s all-time record of 24 Grand Slam singles titles, while Federer could have become the first man to lift nine Wimbledon titles.

But Halep burst aside Serena in 55 minutes beating her for identical scores of 6-2 in two sets to lift the crown and become the first Romanian to do so. By the time Djokovic-Federer stopped playing, the game had already attained vintage status. It ended as the longest ever final in Wimbledon’s history after going on for 4 hours and 57 minutes. Djokovic eventually won, beating the Swiss master 7-6 (7-5), 1-6, 7-6 (7-4), 4-6, 13-12 (7-3) in an epic classic Wimbledon will never forget.
As the tradition goes, both Djokovic and Halep later posed together for the paparazzi at the official function of Wimbledon – closing party – after another exciting tournament drew to an end.
The trophy was Djokovic's 16th Grand Slam title and fifth Wimbledon title taking him on level with the great bjorn borg on Wimbledon trophies. Federer leads the list in the men's singles with eight titles to his name. Martina Navratilova has won the highest number of Wimbledon singles title (9).
