Wimbledon 2018 is in its second week now and the first week has provided ample action and shock exits especially in the Women's singles, where only one of the top 10 seed have managed to make it to the fourth round. 7-time Wimbledon champion Serena Williams is going strong but Maria Sharapova lost out in the first round itself. The Men's singles have been more or less predictable with the exception of no. 3 seed Marin Cilic of Croatia losing to Argentina's Guido Pella. Other top seeds like Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Martin del Potro and Novak Djokovic have reached the round of 16.

The Women's Singles is bound to see a different winner this year, as Karolina Pliskova is the only one from the top 10 seed to have survived the first week. Defending champion Garbine Muguruza lost to Belgian's Alison van Uytvanck 5-7, 6-2, 6-1, in a shock defeat. World No. 1 Simona Halep was also knocked out by Taiwan's Hsieh Su-Wei on day 6 of the Wimbledon.
