Indian tennis ace Leander Paes became the most successful doubles player in the history of Davis Cup by registering his  43rd win. Peas played with Rohan Bopanna and defeated the Chinese pair of Mo Xin Gong and Ze Zhang by 5-7, 7-6(5), 7-6(3). With this, the duo kept India's challenge alive in the tournament after Ramkumar Ramanathan and Sumit Nagal were defeated on Friday.

Twitterati hailed the feat achieved by Peas and tweets poured in from the fans. India’s commentator Harsha Bhogle congratulated Peas’ victory and wrote, “Another doubles win for @Leander. When his colleagues are playing in the veterans, he'll be playing in the Slams!”

Senior editor Gaurav Kalra wrote, “Well done old man @Leander - you are one stubborn dude! Enjoy this moment, it’s taken a while to get here!  👏👏👏👏💪💪💪”

Sachin Tendulkar too congratulated Leander Peas for the achievement via a tweet.

They will now have to win both reverse singles to enter the World Group Play-offs. Paes his debut at the Davis Cup with Zeeshan Ali, who is now the coach of the team.  Mahesh Bhupathi is the captain of the team.  Paes and Bhupathi jointly ruled the circuit in the 1990s and held an unbeaten record of winning 24 matches.
