Needless to say that the Swiss tennis ace was on cloud nine and celebrated the victory with his fans by signing autographs and tossing towels into the stands. Just then he spotted a crying child on Court number 1. The child was separated from his father and much to everyone’s surprise Wawrinka lifted the child in his arms and consoled him. “Yeah, people were pushing too much, and he starts to cry because he had some pain,” Wawrinka said in his post-match press conference. “I took him out of that mess a little bit, and he was in pain and sad. So for sure, I tried to make him feel better, give him a towel, and try to find his dad,” he further said. The video of the moment went viral on social media and was shared by many other netizens.

The three-time Grand Slam champion will next face Grigor Dimitrov in the Round of 32.
