Roger Federer is an angry man. The Swiss tennis ace has been blamed for influencing the schedule of the US Open 2019. It was reported that the 20 time Grand Slam winner wanted to play the match against Dan Evans during noon. Federer squashed the claims that the top-seeded players have control over the tournament as compared to the lesser-ranked peers. Federer was quite angry with the claims and shortly after he went on to beat Evans by 6-2.6-2,6-1. He spoke to the reporters about the claims and said that he has hurt this shot before. “I have heard this shit too often now,” Federer said, in an uncharacteristic outburst. “I’m sick and tired of it – that apparently I call the shots.” The Swiss ace also said that he does not remember if his team had called for a day session. He also did not rule out the fact that they are asked about the schedule but that does not mean ‘Roger asks, Roger gets’. “We can give our opinion. That's what we do. But I'm still going to walk out even if they schedule me at 4:00 in the morning,” explained Federer while speaking to the reporters.
With the win, Roger Federer advanced to the Round of 16 match. He will next face Belgium’s David Goffin who beat 2017 semi-finalist Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain 7-6(5), 7-6(9), 7-5. The Belgian hit 52 winners and won 76 per cent (19/25) of his trips to the net.
