Rafael Nadal Wins 5th Rogers Cup Title in Canada, Claims Record-Extending 35th ATP Masters 1000 Title
Nadal has now won the Rogers Cup five times in his career. He first won the title in 2005 and then won it again in 2008, 2013, 2018 and now in 2019. This win was also a record-extending 35th ATP Masters 1000 title for Rafael Nadal.
Montreal, August 12: World No 2 tennis player Rafael Nadal beat World No 9 Russian player Daniil Medvedev in the finals of Rogers Cup 2019 to claim his fifth title in Canada. Nadal leads the all-time ATP Masters 1000 title standings with 35 titles in all. Serbia's Novak Djokovic is number two with 33 titles, Swiss great Roger Federer number three with 28 titles, America's Andre Agassi at number four with 17 and Great Britain's Andy Murray at fifth spot with 14 titles.
With this win, Nadal has got off to a perfect start for the hard-court season and the US Open. Nadal has 18 Grand Slams overall and three US Open titles in his career. The Spaniard is only two slams shy of Roger Federer's record of 20 Grand Slams for most majors by a player in Men's Singles category.
