There have been many occasions where Rafael Nadal had displayed his softer side. Whether it’s helping the flood-affected victims in Spain or playing charity matches to sponsor the needy, Nadal has always been forthcoming when it comes to lending a helping hand. This time it was at the US Open 2019, where once again the Spaniard displayed his heart of gold as he consoled a crying kid who was almost got crushed in the front. The boy was weeping badly and Nadal saw that. The tennis star walked up to the boy and picked him up and wiped his tears. The little boy realized that he was standing in front of the 18 time Grand Slam winner and regain composure. The USTA Net Generation sets up special signing opportunities for children only and the incident happened when Nadal was busy signing autographs. The parents of the kid obviously knew of the incident and his father took to social media to thank the tennis star.

Rafael Nadal advanced in the third round of the US Open 2019 after Thanasi Kokkinakis got injured and could not play the game. He will face South Korea’s Chung Hyeon today in the third round. The South Korean qualified, beat American wild card Ernesto Escobedo and upset 32nd seed Fernando Verdasco to make his first third round.
