Rafael Nadal Posts New Year Selfie With Quokka, Says Perfect Way to Start 2020

Tennis star Rafael Nadal began New Year in a unique style as he posted a selfie with Quokka, a herbivorous animal. The World number one is in Australia for the upcoming ATP Cup 2020, and as part of his New Year celebrations, the tennis ace visited Rottnest Island in Perth. Nadal took to Instagram and posted a couple of pictures. “Perfect way to start 2020 with good friends,” wrote Nadal as he posted the pictures, which are now all over the internet. Nadal will have a long stay in Australia as after the ATP Cup; the 33-year-old tennis player will take part in Australian Open 2020, which begins from January 20 onwards.

The ATP Cup 2020 will start on January 03 and ends on January 12. The tennis tournament will take place in three cities- Perth, Brisbane, and Sydney. A total of 24 countries, including Spain and hosts Australia, will battle it out for glory. Spain is placed alongside Japan, Georgia and Uruguay in Group B. Spain will open their campaign against Georgia on January 04 and then will face Uruguay and Japan on January 06 and 08 respectively.

Nadal will be looking to start 2020 on a winning note. The 19-time Grand Slam winner won French Open and US Open in 2019. Besides qualifying for the final of Australian Open, Nadal made it to the semi-final of Wimbledon last year.
