With this victory, Novak Djokovic improves upon his rankings and reaches at number 3 on the rankings of men's singles in ATP rankings. Rafael Nadal is the world number 1 and Roger Federer is number 2 on the rankings.

Djokovic, who had seen a slump in his career after completing the career grand slam when he won the French Open in 2016, has been in top form after the clay season. He first won the Wimbledon to announce his return back to top form and has now won the US Open 2018 title comprehensively. With his current form on the hard-courts, Djokovic is tipped to be a favorite at the Australian Open 2019. (With Agency Inputs)
