Nick Kyrgios took a hilarious dig at defending US Open champions Novak Djokovic after the world number one threatened a fan during the warm-ups just before his third-round match against American Denis Kudla. Djokovic, who was fired up throughout his encounter against the home-grown Kudla, was videoed threatening a spectator “trust me, I’ll come, find you” before the game. The Serbian, however, went on to advance into the fourth round with a straight-set 6/3, 6/4, 6/2, victory. But his explosive rants during and prior to the game left Kyrgios amused, who aimed a sly dig at the 16-time Grand Slam champion. “I’m scared,” said Kyrgios replying to a Twitter user, who had uploaded the video of Djokovic yelling at a spectator. His comment was accompanied by a laughing face emoji. Perhaps the 28th seeded Australian was surprised on seeing someone else perform his antics in the tennis court. Kyrgios is familiar with such outburst and bad behaviour with the crowd in Tennis court and has often in the past landed himself into trouble for such antics. But for Djokovic, it was unnatural to act in such a manner. Speculations have since been doing the round that the top-ranked Tennis player and US Open 2019 favourite was more frustrated with the shoulder injury that has been troubling him since the second round. His antics in the court on Saturday, however, did not stop there. Djokovic later screamed at the crowd telling them “shut the fuck up” as they cheered for the own homeboy Kudla.
Djokovic, however, tried to calm things down and said that he wanted to have “just a little chat” with the spectator he had yelled at. “I liked the guy,” he was quoted as saying by Express UK, “I’m going to buy him a drink. We'll keep it between us. But he definitely helped me. He doesn't even know, but he did help me. I'm not going to talk about it. I think he did me a favour. Even maybe he didn't want to do me a favour, he did me a favour, big favour,” the Serbian later added.
