Australian Tennis star Nick Kyrgios broke down in tears while discussing the bushfires in Australia during his post-match interview. Kyrgios defeated Jan-Lennard Struff 6-4, 7-6 (4) in the opening match of the ATP Cup 2020 in Brisbane and could not hold back his tears while talking about the ongoing horrific bushfires in eastern Australia. His victory handed the Aussies a 1-0 lead over the Germans in the Group F clash which they won 3-0 in the end. 'I don’t really care about the praise too much. We’ve got the ability and the platform to do something. My home town is Canberra and we’ve got the most toxic air in the world at the moment, that’s pretty sad. It’s tough. Sorry,' the tennis star side while in tears. The Australian was at his absolute best as he lit up the contest with 20 aces and made an easy work of his German opponent.

Nick Kyrgios' Earlier Tweet

Kyrgios earlier tweeted that he will donate 200 Australian dollars for every ace he hits and he started off the match in the best way possible as he hit an ace on his very first serve. The 24-year-old hit 20 aces throughout the match thus raising 4000 Australian dollars after just one match. ATP tournament director Tom Larner also said that $100 will be donated for every ace served by any player in the tournament.
