On Sunday, Russian tennis ace Maria Sharapova had stepped on to the court to lock horns with local girl Ashleigh Barty on the day seven at the Australian Open 2019. It was Barty who won the game against the 30-year-old 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 and will now advance into the quarter-finals of the tournament. However, Maria Sharapova faced an untoward incident after she took a seven-minute long break toilet break. As she returned to the court, Sharapova was booed by the crowd who had come to watch the match. Sharapova Knocked out of Australian Open.

Even the commentators said, “15000 people booing seven minutes she left the court.” This obviously irked Sharapova and she was not in the best of her mood. She addressed the press conference after her loss and looked extremely upset with the same. A journalist asked her if the boos had affected her game? This question rubbed salt on her wounds and an already upset Sharapova responded by saying, “What do you want me to say to that question. It’s a silly question.”

The video of Sharapova being booed went viral and was shared by one of the fan pages. Check out the clip below:

So far in her career, Sharapova has won five Grand Slam titles. However, after making a comeback from the 15- month long doping ban, the Russian has still not managed to win a single title. During the conference, she also dismissed the question about the dope ban she faced.
