Roger Federer is a multi-talented guy! Wondering what makes us say that? Read on to know what happened. So yesterday, the 20-time Grand Slam Champion Roger Federer breezed his way into the quarterfinals yesterday after defeating Adrian Mannarino yesterday at the Wimbledon 2018. The Swiss maestro won in straight sets by 6-0 7-5 6-4 and flaunted his cricketing skills in the tennis court.
It was during the first set when Roger was up by 2-0 and Adrian returned his serve to which top seed responded with a cricket-like shot. The official account of Wimbledon shared his video of Federer on social media and asked the ICC to rate the defence. The caption of the clip read, “Ratings for @rogerfederer's forward defence, @ICC?#Wimbledon.” The shot just made us wonder if there’s anything that Federer can’t do!
The ICC responded to the tweets where they said Roger Federer is the number one cricketer.
“When greatness recognises greatness 👌,” read another tweet by the ICC.
With this win, Federer knocked off the 11th opponent of this streak. Talking about the same while addressing the press after the match, Federer said, “I feel like these streaks just happen. You can't plan for them anyway because one point can change the outcome of a set. If you break it down, it could be one shot really. That's not something you can always control. Of course, if you give yourself maximum chances, you're playing well, you have super focus, then these streaks are kind of possible.”
