The young American tennis player defeated her Slovenian opponent Hercog at Centre Court after being one set down at the start. About 15000 spectators in the court were pleased with Gauff’s’s well-deserved achievement and applauded the young sportswoman with loud cheers and claps. Later in the second round, the American sportswoman defeated former Wimbledon semi-finalist Magdalena Rybarikova 6-3, 6-3 in an incredible encounter.

Atlanta-born Gauff’s journey in Wimbledon 2019 so far reveals her champion status. First, she became the youngest player to qualify for Wimbledon and then became the youngest player to enter the last 32 since 1991.
