After two weeks of intense action, US Open is finally set to get a new champions in the Women's singles as world no 2 Aryna Sabalenka is all set to take on Jessica Pegula in the final at the Arthur Ashe Stadium on September 7, Sunday. Both the players had a good 2024 so far. Sabalenka had a better one as she won the Australian Open 2024 and also the Cincinnati Open beating Pegula in the final. Pegula on the other hand won the Berlin Ladies Open and the Canadian Open in 2024. Both of them has performed really well so far in the ongoing US Open 2024. The second seeded Sabalenka has won two Australian Open titles. Sabalenka started the season with a bang as she won the Australian Open, but she ended up losing in the French Open 2024 to Mirra Andreeva in the quarterfinal and was kept out of action due to a gruesome shoulder injury. She made a comeback in the Canadian Open but due to lack of match fitness lost in the quarter finals.
