London, August 29: Tennis superstar Andy Murray shared an image of his bleeding nose but his face still had a smile, the reason: He was bleeding because his 10-month-old daughter had hit him! Yes, strange as it may sound, Britain's tennis star got hit by his daughter while playing with her. Andy, posted a picture of his with the caption "When playing with your 10 month old daughter gets a bit too physical."
The accident happened just hours before Murray is scheduled to take on Fernando Verdasco in his second-round match at the US Open. The US Open is Murray's first Grand Slam since his hip injury.
The Wimbledon champion had recently made a touching speech about his daughters and called them the “future”. Murray also called for changing attitude towards women in Tennis.
In a campaign video for the US Open, Murray said that, “We are fathers. She is my daughter. She is my future. She knows dreams have no gender. Her rights are our rights. The only thing that separates tennis players is the net. We need to embrace all.”
In other news related to top seed at the US Open, second seed Roger Federer started his US Open appearance with an overwhelming 6-2, 6-2, 6-4 win against Japan's Yoshihito Nishioka to enter the second round.
Federer, 37, winner of five consecutive US Open, will have as next opponent Frenchman Benoit Paire, who defeated Austrian Dennis Novak 7-6 (6), 3-6, 7-5 and 7-6 (5).
Sixth seed and this year's Wimbledon Champion Novak Djokovic defeated Marton Fucsovics 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 6-0 to reach the second round of the US Open tennis tournament. The Serb, who has won the event twice, needed nearly three hours to dispatch the 27-year-old Hungarian, who is ranked 41st in the world.
