Serena Williams recently grabbed all the headlines after losing to Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka during the US Open 2018 women's final match. She also made headlines for the verbal spat with the on-court umpire Carlos Ramos. After the tiff, tennis fans are divided on the issue. Some are supporting the American tennis player and others are slamming her for ‘unruly’ behaviour on the court.

Dairy giant Amul, who is known for taking a stand on trending issue through the use of catchy phrases by Amul girl, put out their opinion on the issue with their latest cartoon. Serena Williams After Losing 2018 US Open Finals to Naomi Osaka, Accuses Chair Umpire Carlos Ramos of Sexism, Calls Him Thief!

“#Amul Topical: Ms William’s tantrums in US Open finals!” read the tweet posted along with a picture that featured the moment where Williams and Carlos Ramos were involved in a heated verbal argument.

However, the Amul's move on the issue has not gone well with many people on social media. The cartoon created a stir on social media many users have demanded Amul to take it down because they were disappointed that Serena Williams altercation with the on-court umpire has gained more limelight, than Naomi Osaka's win.

Heres how netizens reacted:

One user tweeted, "I love you Amul. But this is BS. Male players who act the same way are not penalised because they are just considered‚ passionate sportsmen‘ with a fighting spirit."

While other wrote, "Not this time Amul. Coaching? Maybe yeah, but taking away her point calling verbal abuse, not so much!"

While Amul is slammed in India, an Australian newspaper has come under fire for publishing a controversial cartoon of Serena Williams. The cartoon by Mark Knight was published in the Herald Sun tabloid. It featured the American player stomping a racquet in frustration, while in the back the on-field umpire is seen asking Osaka, "Can you just let her win."

Several renowned personalities, sports broadcasters and journalists have slammed the cartoonist for being distasteful and politically incorrect. British author JK Rowling made her sentiments felt by calling out the cartoon to be "racist".
