Here's the throwback to Serbian tennis great Novak Djokovic winning his first Wimbledon title at the All England Club in 2011. Djokovic beat Spain's Rafael Nadal, who was also the defending champion coming into the 2011 Wimbledon, to lift the first of his four Wimbledon titles. Djokovic has won 15 Grand Slam titles so far and enters 2019 Wimbledon as one of the favourites.

Novak Djokovic has come to Wimbledon 2011 with great expectations and form. However, he had to face the toughest opponent in the game of tennis possible in order to win his maiden Wimbledon title. Djokovic met the defending champion and two-time Wimbledon champion Rafael Nadal in the final and beat the Spaniard 6–4, 6–1, 1–6, 6–3 to emerge victorious. By winning the 2011 Wimbledon title, Novak Djokovic not only fulfilled his childhood dream but also ended the Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal dominance at the All England Club. It was the first time since 2002 that a player other than Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal won the Wimbledon championship. Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal also hold the record for having met the most number of times on the tennis court. The great rivals have met 54 times, which is an Open Era record for head-to-head meetings between male players. Novak Djokovic leads the career battles 28–26. Djokovic went on to win the Wimbledon trophy three more times. He defeated eight time Wimbledon winner Roger Federer in the 2014 and 2015 final. Djokovic won the 2018 Wimbledon title by beating Kevin Anderson and will be the defending champion coming into the 2019 Wimbledon for his fifth title. Djokovic already holds 15 Grand Slam titles and is only behind his great rivals and contemporaries Roger Federer (20) and Rafael Nadal (18) for most number of Grand Slams won in Men's Singles.
