Tamil Thaliavas is one of the new teams that were added last year to the Pro Kabaddi League. In their debut season, the Chennai-based franchise had a poor outing as they failed to go past the group stage. Thaliavas finished last that is sixth in Zone B as they managed to win only six out of 22 matches. Meanwhile, ahead of the PKL 2018 auction, Thaliavas retained Indian captain Ajay Thakur, which was an obvious choice. Beside him, the franchise also decided to hold back defenders like Amit Hooda and C. Arun. And had to shell out a decent amount for it. At the auction, Tamil Thalaivas managed to bring on board South Korean duo Chan Sik Park and Jae Min Lee on a raglan price. Also, the Thaliavas added All-rounder Manjeet Chillar to their squad.
The franchise added three players from the New Young Players (NYP) category. Anand, Rajnish and D Pradap are the young faces in the team.
