New Delhi, July 23: The Secretary General of Cycling Federation of India & Asian Cycling Confederation, Onkar Singh, has written to Swiss Embassy, requesting them to issue the necessary VISA to Indian Cycling Team to enable them for participation in UCI Junior Track World Championships. Earlier, the Switzerland Embassy had rejected Visa of Indian Cycling team comprising Amar Singh, Bilal Ahmad Dar, Gurpreet Singh, Manoj Sahu, Naman Kapil & Venkappa Shivappa which was to participate in World Junior Cycling Championships 2018 from 15-19 August 2018. The Swiss Embassy is reported to have rejected the visa of Indian Cycling Team on grounds that 'justification for purpose and conditions of the intended stay wasn't provided', and that the 'info submitted regarding the same wasn't reliable', 'intention to leave territory of Member States before visa expiry couldn't be ascertained', as reported by news agency ANI:

The Union Cycliste Internationale- UCI Junior Track World Championships will begin from Wednesday, 15 August and end on Sunday, 19 August. The UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championships were formerly known as the UCI- Juniors Track World Championships before 2016, and are a set of world championship events for junior riders, for the various disciplines and distances in track cycling and are regulated by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI).
