Southeast Asian Games 2019, officially called the 2019 SEA Games, is a biennial multi-sport event organised by the Philippines Olympic Committee (POC). The sport is played between 11 countries from Southeast Asia. The event is being held in the Philippines and started on November 24, 2019. Countries participating in SEA 2019 are hosts Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Brunei and East Timor. The event started in 1959 with Thailand being the first nation to host the Games since then it is being held every two years.

The 30th edition of the Southeast Games (SEA) 2019 will also mark the first time the competition has been decentralised from one particular venue to multiple venues. SAE 2019 in the Philippines will be spread across 23 cities in the country and have been divided into four clumps, all of which are located on the island of Luzon. A total of 56 sports divided by 529 events will take place at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, making this edition the largest Southeast Asian Games in terms of the number of sports and events contested. Badminton, among the other sports, was a last-minute addition to sporting events in SEA 2019 after being initially left out of the original list.
