This includes 99 gold, 68 silver and 34 bronze. Indian contingent in the ongoing South Asian Games 2019 lead second-placed Nepal by a huge margin. Nepal, the hosts of the 13th edition of South Asian Games 2019, have 137 medals in total. Sports Authority of India (SAI) informed about India's achievements on Day 7 of the SA Games 2019 with a tweet. Informing Indian sports enthusiasts about the updated medals tally, SAI wrote on Twitter "UPDATE: India’s medal tally has crossed the 200 mark with our athletics team, fencers, cyclists and shooters winning medals, as on 7:15 pm IST".

The 13th edition of South Asian Games is underway in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. A total of 28 sports are being played under the tournament. India, who have dominated most of the editions of South Asian Games, are participating in 15 sports. Cricket is one of the games where India is not looking to compete. South Asian Games 2019 started on December 1, 2019 and will end on December 10, 2019. India, Nepal, Maldives, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan are part of the tournament.
