Shweta Ratanpura Becomes First Indian Female to Win Medal at World Skills 2019

The Indian female athletes have been making India proud in the field of athletics. Whether it is PV Sindhu, Himani Das, Manu Bhaker and countless other athletes have bagged accolades and have scripted their name in golden letters. Shweta Ratanpura adds on to the list as she not only participated in the World Skills 2019 recently held at Kazan in Russia.

The Indian female athletes have been making India proud in the field of athletics. Whether it is PV Sindhu, Himani Das, Manu Bhaker and countless other athletes have bagged accolades and have scripted their name in golden letters. Shweta Ratanpura adds on to the list as she not only participated in the World Skills 2019 recently held at Kazan in Russia but also won a bronze medal and made the nation proud. Shweta won the medal in the Graphic Designing category. India won 19 medals at the competition one Gold, one Silver and two bronze medals along with 15 medals of excellence. That was quite a performance by India.

The recently concluded event in Russia witnessed the participation of 1,600 young professionals coming from more than 60 different countries who participated in 56 skills. Despite so many contenders, India was placed at the 13th position of the contest. The Indian contingent comprising 48 participants will be representing the country in 44 skills at the WorldSkills Kazan 2019.  The event was held at the KAZAN EXPO International Exhibition Centre where more than 1,500 Experts will evaluate the Competitors’ work.

As per the website of the Worldskills, “As part of Skill India mission, WorldSkills India is an initiative of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India. NSDC, through its WorldSkills India initiative, has been leading the country's participation at WorldSkills International competitions since 2011.” On behalf of the entire team of Latestly, we congratulate the winners and would surely want to bag many more medals.
