Indian tennis players Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan have won the gold medal in men's doubles at Jakarta Palembang 2018 Asian Games. They beat Denis Yevseyev and Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 in men's doubles gold medal match. This is second gold for India on day 6 of Jakarta Palembang 2018 Asian Games. This is the fifth successive Asian Games, when an Indian pair represented the county in the final of the men's doubles. Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi had won the gold in 2002 and 2006, while Somdev Devvarman and Sanam Singh won gold in 2010. At Incheon Saketh Myneni and Sanam Singh lost in the 2014 final.

In the women's singles semi-finals, India's Ankita Raina bagged a bronze medal after a straight sets loss to top seed Zhang Shuai of China. The 25-year-old lost to more experienced Shuai 4-6, 6-7 in a tough, long drawn battle that lasted two hours and 11 minutes.
