Palembang (Indonesia), August 22: India's Rahi Sarnobat won the gold medal in finals of the 25m pistol competition at the 18th Asian Games on Wednesday. Naphaswan Yangpaiboon of Thailand came second to bag silver medal. The 27-year-old Pune girl had won the Bronze medal in the 25-metre pistol team event at the 2014 Asian Games at Incheon but she gave her best to win the gold medal in Jakarta Palembang 2018 Asian Games. Another Indian shooter in the 25m pistol was 16-year-old Manu Bhaker, who however got eliminated early on in the finals event. Earlier, Manu had topped the qualifying round with a Games record score of 593, while Rahi was seventh with 580 points. Manu got 297 points in the three-series precision round, with scores of 99, 98 and 100 respectively. She scored 296 in the three-series rapid round, with scores of 100, 97 and 99 respectively. Coming back to Rahi Sarnobat, the golden girl in the qualification round shot 97, 95, 96 for a total of 288 in the precision round. In the rapid round, she posted scores of 98, 96, 98 for a total of 292.
