Punam Yadav Wins Fifth Gold For India at CWG 2018, the Indian won Women's 69kg weightlifting event at Gold Coast this Sunday Morning. With this medal, India's total tally now stands with seven medals.

Punam lifted a combined total of 222kg - 100kg snatch and 122kg clean and jerk. While England's Sarah Davies settled for the silver medal. Sarah attempted to lift 128 kg to challenge Punam but failed in the final attempt! This is Punam Yadav's second medal in Commonwealth Games as she also won a Bronze at the 2014 Glasgow Games in 63kg category. Punam bettered her performance in this year's CWG. The 22-year weightlifter is born in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
