The Pro Wrestling League was an initiative of ProSportify and Wrestling Federation of India in 2015. Mumbai Garuda won the inaugural season in 2015, while NCR Punjab Royals won the subsequent seasons (2017 and 2018).

A total of six teams – Delhi Sultans, Haryana Hammers, Mumbai Maharathi, NCR Punjab Royals, UP Dangal, Veer Marathas, and MP Yodha – have been the six participants since the inception of the Pro Wrestling League.

The wrestling league follows all the rules and guidelines laid down by the United World Wrestling. The Pro Wrestling league follows the league format, in which the teams first play against each other, and the top teams eventually qualify for the playoffs.

The 2019 PWL edition will begin from January 14, and the final is scheduled to take place on January 31. The events at the Pro Wrestling League events will take place between 7 PM - 9 PM (IST).

The first leg of the wrestling matches at PWL 2019 will be played at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula, Haryana. The second leg of the tournament will take place at Indoor Stadium Pokhowal Road in Ludhiana, Punjab. The final leg of PWL will be competed at Gautam Buddha University Stadium in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

The official broadcasting rights of PWL Season 4 in India is with Sony Sports Network. The fans will have to switch to Sony Six/HD channels to see the wrestling matches with English commentary.
