The Paris Olympics 2024 opening ceremony has come to an end and it sure was a spectacle despite there being a lot of rain! Athletes from the competing nations paraded on boats on the Seine River in a historic first, and the event also saw some magnificent performances from several artists, the likes of which include Lady Gaga, Aya Nakamura and, to top it off, Celine Dion. The rain was relentless as it continued throughout the opening ceremony but the spirits of everyone involved could not be dampened at all. For India, PV Sindhu and Achanta Sharath Kamal carried the tricolour and waved it high as the contingent's boat moved on the Seine River. IOC President Thomas Bach addressed the athletes and French President Emmanuel Macron declared the 2024 Olympics Open. Another memorable moment of the Paris Olympics 2024 opening ceremony was when Zinedine Zidane handed the Olympic torch to Rafael Nadal, who then paraded it on a boat alongside Serena Williams, Carl Lewis and Nadia Comaneci.
