An action-packed day comes to an end and Indian fans are likely to have mixed emotions after what transpired on August 1. The athletes in men's and women's race walk events could not make much of an impact, but India's medal tally saw an increase, with Swapnil Kusale bagging a bronze in the Men's 50m Rifle 3 Positions Event. It was the first time that India won a medal in this event at the Olympic Games. But after that, there was not much to cheer about. The Indian men's hockey team, unbeaten so far, faced their maiden loss to defending champions Belgium. Also, Nikhat Zareen, PV Sindhu and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty--all of whom were India's medal prospects, were knocked out of their respective events. Lakshya Sen remains India's only challenge in badminton at the Paris Olympics 2024. In sailing, Vishnu Saravanan and Nethra Kumanan were in action. But there's plenty more coming your way on August 2, with Manu Bhaker and Lakshya Sen among top athletes set to be in action! Click here to check India's full schedule here.
