Paris Olympics 2024 Highlights Day 4: Look Back at Major Headlines, Match Results, Updated Medals Tally

Another day in the Paris Olympics 2024 comes to an end. Overall a good day for India as they added another bronze to their tally with Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh finishing third in 10 M Air Rifle mixed team. Other positives include a great win for Manika Batra, who entered Round of 16 and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty topping their group. Bhajan Kaur also made it to the Round of 16 in Women's Individual archery. Amit Panghal, Dhiraj Bommadevara, Jaismine Lamboria, Ankita Bhakat only found disappointment in their Archery and Boxing campaigns. Archer Dhiraj Bommadevara loses his Round of 32 Men's individual event encounter against Eric Peters of Canada after a tremendous fight. Dhiraj was in lead for the majority time but the Candian Archer struck seven ten pointers in a row including the shoot off in which Dhiraj also shot ten but the Canadian's arrow was closer to the inner ring by 2.4 cm. Dhiraj now has only mixed team to perform. 

With a strong opponent in the Round of 32, Jaismine Lamboria couldn't make it to the pre-quarterfinals. Another elimination for India on day 4.  Jaismine Lamboria struggled to keep up in her new category of 57 Kg as Philippines' Nesthy Petecio totally dominated her to the Round of 16 by Unanimous decision. With this Jaismine Lamboria's journey in Paris Olympics 2024 came to an end.

China going strong in the Paris Olympics 2024, close to the conclusion of Day 4, the Republic of China has six gold, six silver and two bronze medals while leaders at the start of the day - Japan dropped to the second spot with six gold, two silver and four bronze medals. India dropped to the 28th spot with two bronze medals.

Shooting: Manu Bhaker and Sarbjot Singh won a bronze medal 

Badminton: Chirag Shetty and Satwik Rankireddy won while Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto lost their final group-stage matches 

Archery: Ankita Bhakat was knocked out while Bhajan Kaur advanced to the round of 16 

Boxing: Amit Panghal lost in the first round 

Rowing: Balraj Panwar finished fifth and was knocked out in the quarterfinals 

Hockey: India defeated Ireland 2-0 

Argentina and Morocco football teams are in action now with the sides taking on Ukraine and Iraq respectively. Group B in Men's football is locked in with all teams level on points.

It was a highlight of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in terms of the scoreline and exit. Like in Tokyo, Amit Panghal loses an early bout with a 1:4 scoreline. This time against Patrick Chinyemba of Zambia.

Indian Boxer Amit Panghal will compete in the round of 16 match in the Flyweight category. He will take on Zambia's Patrick Chinyemba. Stay tuned for the result. 

Coco Gauff faces defeat against Donna Vekic. Croatian won the match in straight sets with a 7-6, 6-2 scoreline. Gauff still has a chance to win a medal in doubles event.

Manpreet Singh scored a brace as India defeated Ireland 2-0 in the Hockey match at the Paris Olympics 2024. Manpreet Singh leads all scorers in the event at the moment.

Bhajan Kaur continued her great run in the Women's Individual event and registered her second win. She defeated Wioleta Myszor in the round of 32 match. Earlier in the day, Myszor won against India's Ankita Bhakat  

Satwik Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty top their Group after a win over the Indonesian pair. The scoreline reads 21-13, 21-13 in favour of Sat-Chi. They will be in action again in the knock-out stage matches.

Ankita Bhagat gave a tough fight in her match against Wioleta Myszor but failed to advance to the next round while Bhajan Kaur, despite trailing early in the match managed to register a 7-3 win over  Syifa Nurafifah Kamal. She will in action again today.

Two Archers, Ankita Bhakat and Bhajan Kaur will be in action at the Women's Round of 32, while Satwik Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will be in action in a while. Stay tuned for an action-packed hour.

After a win and draw in the last two matches, the Indian Hockey Team will look to secure qualification for the next round early with a win against Ireland. It is looking good at the moment for men in blue.

Spain's Field Hockey Team came from a two-goal deficit and drew 3-3 against France. They are now fourth in pool A Standings and might just have secured next-round qualification.

Basketball at the Paris Olympics 2024 is making some noise. After South Sudan's historic win, it's the Spain Basketball Team today who won their first match at the 2024 edition. Giannis Antetokounmpo and his Greece side though finished on the losing side - for the second time.

Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh clinched the second medal for India and put the country in 27th position in the medals table. Japan, starting the day on the top still leads the medal table while France swoops in at the second place. Japan 12 Medals (6 Gold, 4Silver, 2 Bronze), France 16 Medals (5 Gold, 8 Silver, 3 Bronze)
