Paris Olympics 2024 Highlights Day 4: Look Back at Major Headlines, Match Results, Updated Medals Tally

India's hunt for their second medal continues as the duo of Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh will be taking on Team Korea in the 10m air pistol mixed team bronze medal match. Prithviraj Tondaiman will have to make a stronger comeback in the men's trap shooting qualification round event.

Another day in the Paris Olympics 2024 comes to an end. Overall a good day for India as they added another bronze to their tally with Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh finishing third in 10 M Air Rifle mixed team. Other positives include a great win for Manika Batra, who entered Round of 16 and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty topping their group. Bhajan Kaur also made it to the Round of 16 in Women's Individual archery. Amit Panghal, Dhiraj Bommadevara, Jaismine Lamboria, Ankita Bhakat only found disappointment in their Archery and Boxing campaigns. Archer Dhiraj Bommadevara loses his Round of 32 Men's individual event encounter against Eric Peters of Canada after a tremendous fight. Dhiraj was in lead for the majority time but the Candian Archer struck seven ten pointers in a row including the shoot off in which Dhiraj also shot ten but the Canadian's arrow was closer to the inner ring by 2.4 cm. Dhiraj now has only mixed team to perform.

With a strong opponent in the Round of 32, Jaismine Lamboria couldn't make it to the pre-quarterfinals. Another elimination for India on day 4.  Jaismine Lamboria struggled to keep up in her new category of 57 Kg as Philippines' Nesthy Petecio totally dominated her to the Round of 16 by Unanimous decision. With this Jaismine Lamboria's journey in Paris Olympics 2024 came to an end.

China going strong in the Paris Olympics 2024, close to the conclusion of Day 4, the Republic of China has six gold, six silver and two bronze medals while leaders at the start of the day - Japan dropped to the second spot with six gold, two silver and four bronze medals. India dropped to the 28th spot with two bronze medals.

Badminton: Chirag Shetty and Satwik Rankireddy won while Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto lost their final group-stage matches 

Archery: Ankita Bhakat was knocked out while Bhajan Kaur advanced to the round of 16 

Boxing: Amit Panghal lost in the first round 

Rowing: Balraj Panwar finished fifth and was knocked out in the quarterfinals 

Hockey: India defeated Ireland 2-0

Satwik Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty top their Group after a win over the Indonesian pair. The scoreline reads 21-13, 21-13 in favour of Sat-Chi. They will be in action again in the knock-out stage matches.

Ankita Bhagat gave a tough fight in her match against Wioleta Myszor but failed to advance to the next round while Bhajan Kaur, despite trailing early in the match managed to register a 7-3 win over  Syifa Nurafifah Kamal. She will in action again today.

We have seen quite a few records broken as new records have been made as the Paris Olympics 2024 is getting into its day 4. Team India still only has a single medal to their name which was won by Manu Bhaker in the women's 10m air pistol event. India missed out on a medal opportunity on day 3 when Ramita Jindal finished 7th in the women's 10m air rifle final. India's men's field hockey side is set to face Ireland on day 4 of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Australia grabbed a handful of medals as the day 3 came to an end. Team Australia went on to win multiple medals in men's and women's swimming events at the Paris Olympics 2024. Team Australia also managed to set a couple of Olympic records as well under the women's 4x100 relay and also in women's 200m freestyle. Mollie O'Callaghan went on to win her first ever individual Olympic gold medal.
