So, the second day of the Paris Olympics 2024 has come to an end, and it has been a memorable one, with India securing its first medal at the Summer Olympic Games. Manu Bhaker scripted history by becoming the first Indian female shooter to win an Olympic medal and she did so by clinching the bronze medal in the Women's 10m Air Pistol event. Shooters Arjun Babuta and Ramita Jindal too qualified for the finals of their respective events and it will be interesting to see if they too can increase India's medal tally. In badminton, PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy won their singles matches. Manika Batra and Sreeja Akula secured wins in their respective women's singles table tennis matches, but Harmeet Desai and Achanta Sharath Kamal faced defeats. Indian table-tennis player Harmeet Desai has suffered a defeat in men's singles second round, which ends his campaign at Paris Olympics 2024. He had earlier picked up a convincing 4-0 win over Jordan's Zaid Abo Yaman.

Football at the Olympics saw some shocking results with the Women's World Champions Spain held to a goalless draw against Nigeria and Japan beating Brazil 2-1 in the same category.

The basketball big match ended in Team USA's favour. Kevin Durant led the side with 23 points missing just one attempt in the match, while Nikola Jokic scored 20 points. LeBron James finished with 18 Points and 9 Assists. Great start for a star-studded team. Score: USA 110-84 Serbia

Prannoy H.S. struggled in the match with Fabian Roth providing strong competition to the Indian shuttler. But after a strong first set, Prannoy H.S. registered a 21-18, 21-12 win over the German.

It was an action-packed Day 1 of the Paris Olympics 2024 in which several records were broken whereas many were made as well. From Kazakhstan, who won their first-ever medal in shooting from 1996 to China, who won the first gold medal of the ongoing Summer Olympic Games. India had a mixed day at the office wherein the Indian shooters weren't able to perform as they were expected men's and women's air rifle team were eliminated in the qualification round. With Day 2 of the Paris Olympics all set to begin, the eyes will be on star Indian shuttler and two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu, who will be beginning her campaign in the women's singles category. Manu Bhaker may end India's medal hopes as she will be competing in the finale of women's 10m air pistol. There is more to come for India on Day 2 as Achanta Sharath Kamal and Sreeja Akula will be in action in Table Tennis whereas Srihari Nataraj and Dhinidhi Desinghu will be participating in swimming in their respective categories.
