Paris Olympics 2024 Highlights Day 13: Look Back at Major Headlines, Match Results, Updated Medals Tally

It has been a remarkable day for India at Paris Olympics 2024 with two more medals being added to the tally, after quite some time. The Indian men's hockey team bagged the bronze medal for a second consecutive time at the Olympic Games when they beat Spain 2-1, riding on two goals from Harmanpreet Singh. Later in the day, Neeraj Chopra won the country's first silver medal at the Paris Olympics 2024 when he came up with an effort of 89.45m in the men's javelin throw event. Neeraj Chopra won the silver medal in the men's javelin throw with his second effort that went for 89.45m. Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem has taken the gold with his 92.97m throw. Grenada's Anderson Peters settled for the bronze medal. Neeraj might not have won the gold medal, but this win has made him among those who secured podium finishes in back-to-back Olympics. Nadeem also registered a throw of 91.79m in his last attempt, making him the first to do so in an Olympic final. Neeraj had one legitimate attempt (his second throw of 89.45m) with all the others being fouls. 

Another foul for Neeraj Chopra and he is livid with himself. He has now had four fouls in five attempts and has just one chance to eclipse Arshad Nadeem. 

Things seem to not go Neeraj Chopra's way as he registered yet another foul in his fourth attempt. This is his third foul now and he seems to be under pressure. Meanwhile, Arshad Nadeem continues to be in the gold medal position. 

Neeraj Chopra pulled off a foul on his third attempt as well. Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem's record-breaking throw of 92.97m has kept him in the gold medal position.

Neeraj Chopra starts off with a foul after he slipped while launching the javelin. Before him, Keshorn Walcott established an early lead with a 86.16m throw, his season's best. Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem's first throw was a foul. 

Finishing the qualification round as a table-topper Neeraj Chopra will come in at the eighth position to make a throw. He is warming up currently at the arena. 

We are just an hour away from Neeraj Chopra's event at the Paris Olympics 2024. The star will feature in the Men's Javelin Throw medal match at 11:55 PM IST.

Effective and efficient so far in the competition. aman Sehrawat lost his semifinal bout against Japan's Rei Higuchi. He will now be in action on August 9 for a bronze medal match against Puerto Rico's Darian Cruz.

Aman Sehrawat, who delivered a 'perfect' performance till now will be in action for his semi-final bout in Men's Freestyle Wrestling in the 57 Kg category. This will be his third match of the day and he will look to secure a medal with a win. 

After a bronze medal match in the Men's Hockey Event, Morocco and Egypt are in action for a bronze medal in the Men's Football Event. Both sides have one a game each drawing twice in four previous meetings. 

Midway into the day 2 action, Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar slip to the 13th place in the Women's Individual Golf Event.

After a stunning performance on the field Indian Hockey Team won their bronze medal match. India now moves to the 69th position in the medal's tally.

Apart from Harmanpreet Singh's brace, it was the Indian defense that won a bronze medal for India. PR Sreejesh made multiple saves in the second half while the team managed to hold on to a slender lead throughout the second half.

Harmanpreet Singh's brace and PR Sreejesh's saves hand India a 2-1 victory over Spain. A monumental victory earns India a bronze medal - fourth overall so far at the Paris Olympics 2024. 

At the end of the third quarter, India still has a goal lead over Spain. Men in Blue defended well against the Spanish attack late in the third quarter.
