After winning three championships in a row, Max Verstappen is a new star on the track. He is currently leading the F1 Driver’s standings and on the verge of equalling Lewis Hamilton’s record of four consecutive F1 titles. A championship in 2025 would put him level with Michael Schumacher’s record of five titles in a row which is the all-time record in Formula One. But all this could end abruptly, as the Dutch star is not happy with the FIA’s (Federation International of Automobile) ‘treatment’. A few days ago, after the ‘swearing’ incident at the Singapore GP 2024 press conference, Max Verstappen was told by motorsport’s governing body, that he should carry out “work of public interest”. Later Verstappen opted for short answers during pre-race press conferences.
As per Reuters, Max Verstappen highlighted his disagreement with the punishment and said, “These kind of things definitely decide my future as well. When you can’t be yourself or you have to deal with these kind of silly things. I think now I’m at the stage of my career that you don’t want to be dealing with this all the time. It’s really tiring. Max Verstappen added, “If you have to deal with all these kind of silly things, for me, that is not a way of continuing in the sport, that’s for sure.” While these are worrying statements and hinting at Verstappen quitting F1, fans would want him to stay longer and challenge Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton’s record of seven Driver’s Championships.
