Minutes after Punam Yadav clinched a Gold medal for India in Women's 69kg weightlifting event, shooters Manu Bhaker added another Gold medal and Heena Sidhu bagged a Silver medal in Women's 10m Air Pistol Event at the 2018 Commonwealth Games (CWG).

The Indian shooters aced other competitors in the 10m Pistol Event. Manu finished with a score of 240.9, while Heena scored 234.0 to settle for  Silver. Australia's Elena Galiabovitch occupied the third spot as she won the Bronze medal with a score of 214.9 points.

Manu Bhaker's score of 240.9 points saw her set a new Commonwealth Games record at Belmont Shooting Centre on April 8. The performance of the 16-year-old girl from Haryana was a sweet surprise for the fans, as she won the Gold on her Commonwealth Games 2018 debut. Her stupendous debut performance saw her pipping India's seasoned campaigner - Heena Sidhu, and add another Gold in India's medal tally count.

It was an interesting final event where both the Indian shooters kept their nerve and ensured that they have a podium finish. While Manu Bhaker's focus was unfaltering and steady, Heena Sidhu staged a comeback of sorts and won the Silver medal.

India's total medal tally has moved to nine, which include 6 Gold, 2 Silver, and 1 Bronze medal, all in weightlifting and Shooting combined, at 2018 Commonwealth Games, at Gold Coast, on Saturday. With more games scheduled for the day, and star Indian athletes in the fray, India can expect few more golden moments!
