Mamiko Higa and Ikioi Shota Wedding Date: Engaged Celebrity Couple, Japanese Golfer and Sumo Wrestler to Be Married in October

Celebrity couple Mamiko Higa and Ikioi Shota are engaged. The 24-year-old Japanese golfer and her fiancé, a professional sumo wrestler also from Japan will be getting married on October 11, 2018. The wedding date of the power couple is quite unique – it happens to be their birthdays. While Mamiko was born on 11th October 1993 at Motobu, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, his loving 31-year-old fiancé was born in 1986 at Katano, Osaka, Japan. The engagement news and marriage date announcement have got their fans excited. The official Twitter handle of Ladies European Tour made the big announcement about Mamiko Higa and Ikioi Shota writing, “Mamiko Higa 🇯🇵 T1st with Pornanong Phatlum @RICOHWomensBrit. The 4x winner from the JLPGA is part of a #CelebrityCouple. Engaged to sumo wrestler Ikioi Shote. The couple are due to marry on their shared birthday of October 11 according to SumoNet #RWBO [sic]”. They also posted pictures of the loving couple along with the exciting news.

Coming back to the Women's British Open also called the Ricoh Women's British Open is a major championship in women's professional golf recognised by both the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour and the Ladies European Tour as a major. Mamiko Higa has never been on top of the LPGA leaderboard but Higa is hopeful of significant breakthrough. Currently, ranked No. 51 in Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings, Mamiko Higa is in the second place along with Minjee Lee as Thailand player Pornanong Phatlum leads by one shot entering the third round of Ricoh Women's British Open 2018.

“I was relaxed and played with a good rhythm. I messed up on the 17th and lost my ball, but that didn’t rattle me,” Higa was quoted saying. She was leading by two shots before losing her ball at the 17th hole after driving her second shot into a bush, winding up with a double-bogey 6. This is Mamiko’s first appearance in four years at the prestigious tournament.
