In the 3rd edition of the Khelo India Youth Games, four Union Territories (Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Lakshadweep, Meghalaya and Nagaland) failed to open their account and are languishing at the bottom of the KIYG 2020 medals tally. Reigning winner Maharastra with a stronghold, looks like, should end the season on top once again. In 2019 Khelo India Youth Games, Maharashtra had finished with 228 medals, which included (85 Gold, 62 Silver, 81 Bronze) while in the opening edition, Delhi topped the event with 102 medals including 38 Gold, 26 Silver and 38 Bronze. Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG), formerly Khelo India School Games (KISG), meaning Play India Youth Games, held annually in January or February, are the national level multidisciplinary Grassroot games in India. The 3rd edition of the Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) is being held in Guwahati, Assam in 2020. Khelo India Youth Games 2020 will run from January 10, 2020, to January 22. As many as 20 events -- across different disciplines -- will be part of the Youth Games third year which is being played among age groups of Under-17 and Under-21 Categories.
