The Pro Kabaddi League, popularly known as PKL, is in its seventh season. The PKL 2019 will be played for around three months, spanned across mid-July, August, September and half of October. The tournament kicked off on July 20 and will end with the final on October 19. Meanwhile, the seventh season of Pro Kabaddi League will see a change in the format.
Instead of Zonal format, used in season five and six, PKL 2019 or the seventh season will witness double round-robin format. A total of 12 teams will take part in the PKL 2019 and will face each other twice in the first round.
Out of 12 teams, six finishing on top of the PKL 2019 points table will then qualify for the next round or playoffs. While the top two teams will directly qualify for the semi-finals, the other four teams will square-off in the two Eliminators. The winners of Eliminators will meet top two teams in the semis and then two teams will, apparently, progress to the final of the tournament.
The PKL 2019 will feature mammoth 137 matches including the playoffs and finals. The PKL 7 will be hell across following 12 venues- Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, Dome@NSCI SVP Stadium in Mumbai, Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna, The Arena in Ahmedabad, Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai, Thyagaraj Sports Complex in New Delhi, Kanteerava Indoor Stadium in Bangalore, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium in Kolkata, Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune, Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium in Jaipur, Tau Devilal Sports Complex in Panchkula, Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida.
