PKL 2018: All-rounder Deepak Niwas Hooda emerged as the most expensive player for Jaipur Pink Panthers as he was bought by the franchise for a whopping INR 115 lakhs.
The inaugural champions Jaipur Pink Panthers went into the Pro Kabaddi League 2018 (PKL 2018) without retaining any of its players. The team has struggled after the winning the PKL title in 2014 and thus with an aim to build from the scratch the think tank decided against holding any player back. All-rounder Deepak Niwas Hooda emerged as the most expensive player for Jaipur Pink Panthers as he was bought by the franchise for a whopping INR 115 lakhs. The Jaipur-based franchise, however, managed to pick some players at a steal price like they shelled out INR 30 lakhs to bring on board experienced raider Anup Kumar. Pink Panthers also picked defenders like Mohit Chhillar and Sandeep Kumar Dhull. From the New Young Players (NYP) category Jaipur bought Lokesh Kaushik, Ajit Singh, and Nitin Rawal.
Jaipur Pink Panthers happens to be one of the most successful franchises in PKL and has a win percentage of 51.66%. The Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan owned team had a poor outing last season as they finished fifth in Zone A. After notching just eight wins from 22 matches, Pink Panthers failed to go past the group stage.
