ISSF Shooting World Cup 2019: Manu Bhaker, Saurabh Chaudhary Clinch Gold Medal in 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team

India’s Manu Bhaker and Saurabh Chaudhary on Wednesday, February 27, clinched the gold medal in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event at the ISSF World Cup in New Delhi. The Indian pair combined to shoot a total of 483.4 points in the in the five-team final. Meanwhile, China’s Ranxin Jiang and Bowen Zhang won silver and Minjung Kim and Daehun Park of the Republic of Korea managed to win the bronze medal.
Other Indian pair of Heena Sidhu and Abhishek Verma failed to qualify for the final after shooting a total of 770 points and finishing ninth. The successful Indian pair of Chaudhary-Bhaker had earlier qualified for the final after equaling the qualifications World Record score of 778 in the qualification round. Earlier, 16-year-old Chaudhary won gold in the men's 10m air pistol event with a world record score of 245.0. He also secured India's third Olympic quota for 2020 Games to be held in Tokyo in the process. It was Chaudhary’s his maiden senior World Cup appearance.
However, in her women’s 25 metre Rapid Fire Pistol final event on Sunday Manu finished fifth and had to face a disappointment.
