The Indian shooters are creating history at the ISSF Junior World Cup 2019 in Germany. India has finished at the top of the table clinching 24 medals to its tally. This includes 10 gold, nine silver and five bronze medals. China stands on number two with the same number of medals but has a couple of fewer gold medals compared to India. Germany is featured on number three with 10 medals whereas the USA which on the fourth position has nine accolades. Russia stands on number five with seven medals. ISSF Junior World Cup 2019 is proving to be a happy hunting ground for Indian shooters. With nine gold medals won so far, India are on the leaderboard. Sarabjot Singh is the latest shooter from India to win a gold medal at the prestigious competition. The young lad won in 10m Air Pistol Men Junior event. Among the other medallists from India are Udhayveer Sidhu who shot 575 in the junior men’s 25m standard pistol event to lead a clean sweep for India as Adarsh Singh (568) and Anish Bhanwala (566) won silver and bronze respectively. Udhayveer along with his twin brother Vijayveer Sidhu and Adarsh also bagged team gold in the event with a combined effort of 1707, a junior world record.
The 2018 Commonwealth Games gold-medallist Anish Bhanwala won a gold medal in junior men’s 25m rapid fire pistol. Elavenil Valarivan and Mehuli Ghosh also added gold and silver medals to India’s tally in women’s 10m air rifle event. The duo also teamed up with Shreya Agrawal to win the team gold with a junior world record of 1883.3. Topgun shooter Paarth Makhija along with reigning Junior World Champion Hriday Hazarika and Yash Vardhan won a silver medal in the junior men’s 10m air rifle team.

The ISSF Junior World Cup 2019 is the annual edition of the ISSF World Cup in the Olympic shooting events, governed by the International Shooting Sport Federation.
