IPL 2018 Diaries Video: KKR’s Shubham Gill Gets his Face Caked After Winning the Match Against CSK

Yesterday, the Eden Gardens witnessed superb innings of KKR’s Shubham Gill who scored 50 runs off 36 balls against the Chennai Super Kings. The youngster earned heaps of praises from KKR skipper Dinesh Karthik as Gill displayed immense character and stuck around when the team needed him the most. With his unbeaten knock, Shubham Gill went on to become the Man of the Match as KKR had the last laugh and won the match by 6 wickets.

Having won a crucial match, it was quite obvious that the team would celebrate the victory. The players began singing the victory anthem of the team in the dressing room itself and cheered for each other. Skipper Dinesh Karthik was also around when the celebrations began. Once the team reached the hotel, they were welcomed with claps, hoots and a cake. Man of the Match Shubham Gill cut the cake.

As the ritual goes, Gill’s teammates caked his face.

After winning the match, Dinesh Karthik hailed the efforts of the youngster and said, “Credit to the franchise, they picked a lot of under-19 players. They are refranchiseed players. That boy is special. I don’t want to hype it up and put extra pressure on him. I can see a lot of years of India Blues in him.” With this, the team has moved to the number 3 spot of the IPL 2018 Points Table. KKR will next play against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday.
