IPL 2018: Delhi Daredevil’s Prithvi Shaw Becomes the Youngest Player to Score 50+ Runs, Shreyas Iyer Highest Run-Getter on his Captaincy Debut

It was a question of survival for the Delhi Daredevils as they played the Kolkata Knight Riders at Ferozshah Kotla Stadium. Mumbai duo Shreyas Iyer and Prithvi Shaw chipped with 62 and 93 respectively and both have a lion’s share as DD won by 55 runs against the Kolkata Knight Riders.

With this, Under 19 captain Prithvi Shaw and Captain Shreyas Iyer achieved a remarkable feat.  Prithvi Shaw was already a household name, but with 62 runs in the IPL, he went on to become the youngest player to score 50+ runs in the Indian Premier League history.

Prithvi Shaw’s feat also impressed ex-captain of England, Micheal Vaughan who showered his praises on the youngster.

Also, Shreyas Iyer went on to become the first player to score 93* in the IPL history.

The other performers of the evening included Trent Boult, Glenn Maxwell, Avesh Khan and Amit Mishra. All the four claimed a couple of wickets and sent KKR packing on the score of 164 runs. With this Iyer’s team registered a thumping victory of 55 runs As of now, Delhi Daredevils is placed on number 7 at the IPL 2018 Points Table with 4 points.

With Shreyas Iyer’s 93 unbeaten he entered the list of top 10 run-getters in the IPL 2018. He occupies the seventh spot on the table with 244 runs in 7 matches. Shreyas has made 3 half centuries so far in the IPL 11. Rishabh Pant is another batsman from DD to feature in the list, who is placed on number 10 with 227 runs leaving behind CSK captain MS Dhoni.
