Former world number one, India’s sensation Heena Sidhu bagged country’s third gold in the shooting of Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games on Tuesday. The 28-year-old who had earlier settled for a silver medal in women’s 10m air pistol gave it all to win a gold medal in women’s 25m pistol event. Heena Sidhu shot a final score of 38 to defeat Australian Elena Galiabovitch and Malaysian Alia Sazana Azahari on April 10. With Heena’s gold, India’s medal tally in shooting stands at eight and 20 overall including 11 gold, 4 silver and 5 gold. Other two shooting gold medallists are Manu Bhaker and Jitu Rai. However, one big name who disappointed with no podium finish at Commonwealth Games 2018 is Gagan Narang. The defending silver medallist shooter failed miserably and was ousted with a seventh finish in 50m rifle prone shooting event.
