Indian Women's Table Tennis team's dream run in the Asian Table Tennis Championship 2024 comes to an end as they lose 1-3 to Japan in the semifinal clash. With the defeat, they secured a historic first-ever bronze medal in the competition. Earlier India secured their first ever place in the semifinal of the Asian Table Tennis champions when Ayhika Mukherjee starred to help India win their tie against South Korea. She won two rubbers while Manika won one and the duo helped India secure a historic victory against one of the top seeds South Korea. This success will be considered as a massive progressive from the recent quarter-final finish in the Paris Olympics 2024. Despite looking good in the initial rounds, India failed to make it to the semifinal in the Olympics. Ayhika Mukherjee, who played a key role in the Asian Table Tennis championship was a reserve player in the Olympics. Archana Kamath's withdrawal has played a key role to her return and she has made an impact instantly.
