India scored three goals in the last quarter, in fact, in last five minutes to open their winning account.Goal Scorers: Ramandeep Singh (25'), Dilpreet Singh (54'), Mandeep Singh (57') and Lalit Upadhyay (59').

Arch-rivals India and Pakistan square off in the opening match of Hockey Champions Trophy 2018 in Breda, Netherlands. India will be looking to begin their campaign on a positive note as they look for their maiden Hockey Champions Trophy title. Pakistan, on the other hand, have won the title three times. Though India starts as favourites in this fixture, Pakistan holds an upper hand whenever it comes to Hockey Champions Trophy. So far in the history of the tournament, Pakistan have defeated India 12 times out of 19 matches. India have emerged victorious in just six matches.

Interestingly, the last meeting between these two rivals in Champions Trophy took place during the semifinal of 2014 edition. Pakistan won that match 4-3. Apart from three title wins Pakistan have finished as runner-up seven times in the tournament. India, on the other hand, managed to finish runners-up in 2016 edition and it remains their best performance in the tournament’s history.

Apart from the hosts, India and Pakistan, Australia, Argentina and Belgium are taking part in this year’s Champions Trophy. Each team will get to play five matches during the round-robin stage. Top two teams will the qualify for the summit clash. The finals of the tournament will take place on July 01.
