India went on to beat West Indies in the first match of the World test Championship which was held at Antigua. Needless to say that the netizens can’t keep calm with a stunning performance by the Men in Blue. It was Ajinkya Rahane and Jasprit Bumrah who put the visitors in the driver’s seat and thus led India to a massive victory. Rahane slammed a century and silenced his critics. The pacer bowled at a stunning economy of 0.88. Veteran bowler Ishant Sharma also rolled up his sleeves and dented the hosts by claiming three wickets.  Mohammad Shami added with a couple of more wickets and led the team to victory after India made 343 runs in the second innings. The Windes were bundled out on the score of 100. IND beat WI by 318 runs.

Ajinkya Rahane walked away with the man of the match award for his 81 and 102 in the first and the second innings respectively. Even Indian skipper Virat Kohli had a few words of praises for the right-hander and said, “Jinks was very good in both the innings. It was more of a grind. We had to come back into the game three or four times. That's where our temperament has been good in Tests.” While speaking about Jasprit Bumrah he also said that the pacer will play an important role in the Test Championship.  India will play the second test match at the Kingston Cricket Ground in Jamaica on August 30, 2019.
