The Indian men's U-23 volleyball team stormed in the finals of Asian Men’s U-23 Volleyball Championships. The Indian team defeated the Pakistan team 3-1 winning four sets 21-25, 25-16, 25-22, 25-28 to book the final spot. With this, India team also created history as they also qualified for World Volleyball Championships for the first time. This is also the first time Indian Under-23 Men's team has reached the final in the tournament’s history.

India will face the winner of other semi-final match between Japan or Chinese Taipei, in the final on Sunday. India had earlier defeated Australia 3-1 in the quarter-final. On the other hand, Pakistan defeated Kazakhstan in their quarterfinal fixture earlier. India made a strong comeback under the leadership of Amit Gulia in the semi-final match against Pakistan. They were a set down but roared back to win three successive sets to register a 21-25, 25-16, 25-22, 25-18 victory.

Pakistan dominated the first and many Indian spikes faced deadlock from Pakistan losing 21-25. In the second set, India dominated and reached 25-16 in the end. In the third set, Pakistan took a lead of 21-20 but later lost some points and India ended the set with 25-22. The fourth set led India to the finals with a 25-18 victory. With IANS Inputs.
