Mumbai, July 25: India will kickstart its Paris Olympics 2024 campaign with ranking rounds in archery on Thursday. On this occasion, let us look at country's performances in previous five Olympics. 2020 Tokyo (7 medals)

This was India's best-ever Olympics performance, including gold in men's javelin throw won by Neeraj Chopra, which is the country's first-ever track and field gold. India also ended its 40-year medal drought in men's Hockey with a bronze. Mirabai Chanu and Ravi Dahiya (silver in weightlifting and wrestling) and PV Sindhu, Lovlina Borgohain and Bajrang Punia (bronze in badminton, boxing and wrestling) also made India proud.

2016 Rio de Janeiro (2 medals)

India secured a silver and bronze each in this Olympics, with PV Sindhu getting a women's singles silver, India's first-ever silver medal by a woman. She was youngest to win an individual medal for India at Olympics at the age of 21. Sakshi Malik secured a bronze medal in women's 58 kg, first-ever Olympic medal by an Indian female wrestler.

2012 London (6 medals)

India secured two silvers and four bronze medals, including a silver and bronze in shooting, by Vijay Kumar (25 m rapid fire pistol) and Gagan Narang (10 m air rifle). It also marked the first time two Indian women got a medal in the same Olympics, with Saina Nehwal and Mary Kom getting badminton and boxing bronze. India also got a silver and a bronze in wrestling, thanks to Sushil Kumar and Yogeshwar Dutt.

2008 Beijing (3 medals)

This Olympics was historic for India. Shooter Abhinav Bindra struck gold in men's 10 m air rifle shooting, getting India its first-ever individual Olympic gold medal. 2004 Athens (1 medal)

India could win only one medal in this competition, with shooter Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore getting a silver in Men's double trap shooting, which was India's first-ever individual silver medal.
