Olympians Tie the Knot! India Men's and Women's Hockey Team Players Akashdeep Singh and Monika Malik Get Engaged in Jalandhar
Akashdeep and Monica are all set to get married on November 15. Both of them got have engaged at a private resort located on Jalandhar Phagwara Highway. The families of both the players have reached Jalandhar for the Shagun ceremony.
There are many occasions where athletes have married another person from the same fraternity. Examples can be taken from the cases of Ruturaj Gaikwad marrying another Maharashtra cricketer Utkarsha Power or in the case of Parupalli Kashyap marrying fellow Badminton star Saina Nehwal. The latest to join them has been Indian Hockey stars Akashdeep Singh and Monica Malik. Akashdeep and Monica got engaged with each other in Jalandhar, Punjab on November 13. Monika hails from village Gamdi in Gohana block of Sonipat in Haryana and Akashdeep Singh hails from village Virowal in Tarn Taran, Khadoor Sahib. Meanwhile, Akashdeep Singh was the captain of the youth India hockey sides and has represented India senior side. He Played Olympics 2016 in Rio and he has scored33 international goals. Singh has represented India in the 2018 Commonwealth Games. At the 2018 Asian Champions Trophy, he was awarded the player of the tournament award. Akashdeep works as a DSP in Punjab Police.
