Indian athlete Hima Das is enjoying her time both on the field and off it in Europe. The 19-year-old sprinter from Assam secured five gold medals in just 19 days across different events. Him Das has been receiving praises from all around for her performances. Hima Das, who is quite active on Twitter, has been busy reacting to congratulatory messages on the social networking site. The athlete was seen sitting on the window and enjoying the view. “Beautiful #CzechRepublic," Hima Das wrote as she tweeted the picture. Hima Das’ last of the five gold medals came in the 400m race in Prague where she took the top place with a time of 52.09 seconds.
Hima Das’ first of the five gold medals came on July 02 at the Poznan Athletics Grand Prix in Poland when she clocked 23.65s in the 200m race. She then subsequently won gold medals at the Kutno Athletics Meet in Poland, Kladno Athletics Meet in the Czech Republic, Tabor Athletic Meet in the Czech Republic. At Kutno Athletics Meet despite a sore back Hima Das clocked 23.97 seconds to win the gold medal. Last year in July, Hima Das became the first Indian woman to win gold at the IAAF World Under-20 Athletics Championships in Tampere, Finland. However, earlier in April this year, the Dhing-born sprinter failed to complete her 400m heat in the Asian Athletics Championship due to a back spasm.
